Shifting Calories is an extremely effective dieting technique that actually confuses your metabolism and literally forces faster fat loss to happen. This preface to the Shifting Calories Theory gives a little insight into my story and how I discovered the calorie shifting diet.

First off I’d like to preface Shifting Calories with just a little bit of my own story to help you better understand the reason I put this site together. I know there is a lot of information out there about shifting calories and the calorie shifting diet, but it’s always easier for me get interested in something if there is a personal story behind it.

So there I was, a mother and wife in my thirties who wanted nothing more than to make those around me happy. I could handle that, in fact I thought I was doing a pretty darn good job. The only problem was by the time I’d accomplished that there wasn’t any time left for myself. I really didn’t think it was that big of deal, but as you can imagine, after some time this began to take a toll on me.

I didn’t actually realize how much of a toll until I noticed other parts of my life falling apart. I was feeling stressed about everything. I was depressed. My self-esteem was non-existent. The passion in my marriage was at an all-time low and my husband just didn’t appreciate me anymore. I just didn’t get it. What was making me feel this way? How did my marriage get to this point? I’ll tell you how…I was overweight! The anxiety, the depression, the low self-esteem and self-consciousness was all caused by my weight. I knew things had to change. I needed to lose weight, which for me meant going on a serious diet!

Ok, so what did I know actually know about dieting or losing weight? Absolutely nothing. I needed something that would show me step by step what I needed to do. I needed some sort of diet handbook or a fat loss for idiots guide or something because I really had no idea. But I figured I might as well give it a shot, it really couldn’t be that hard, could it? Watch what I eat, exercise a bit and I should be good to go…WRONG!

I quickly figured out that dieting really isn’t as easy as it it seems it should be. I tried several different diets, but nothing really seemed to work for me. Going to the gym and exercising didn’t turn our to be as fun as I expected it to be either, not to mention trying to find the time to do it! I really needed to find something that would work better for me, maybe an exercise program that would fit my schedule and/or a diet I can actually enjoy without starving myself. So I kept at it, did more research and finally discovered the calorie shifting diet, which was based on The Shifting Calories Theory.
